In April 2003, Mr. Piel established Piel Law Firm LLC to serve the needs of small businesses and start up companies. Based on his tenure as Acting Chief Operating Officer of a small Las Vegas-based manufacturer in 2002 and 2003, Loren understands that small businesses and start up companies struggle from time to time with tight budgets and sporadic cash flow. His goal in opening Piel Law Firm LLC was to meet the needs of those businesses creatively by reducing legal costs while managing the risks faced by those businesses.
Mr. Piel received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Oklahoma State University in May 1986. In 1989, Loren was awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude by Georgetown University Law Center. After practicing in a large law firm in Phoenix, Arizona, for five and a half years, Mr. Piel accepted a position as Associate General Counsel with Boyd Gaming Corporation in Las Vegas, Nevada. In March 2003, Loren accepted the position of General Counsel for a small publicly traded gaming manufacturer in Las Vegas where he was promoted to Executive Vice President & Secretary before ultimately serving for nearly fifteen months as Acting Chief Operating Officer.
